DEEP TEXAS ROOTS & HISPANIC HERITAGE
Clark B. Will is of Hispanic descent, with deep family roots in Texas and a proud heritage of public service. His uncle, Charles E. Cantú, is Dean Emeritus and Professor of Law at St. Mary's University School of Law, among the longest-tenured Hispanic law professors in the country and a Fulbright Scholar. Clark is also related to the legendary Congressman Kika de la Garza, who served Texas's 15th Congressional District for 32 years and was a champion for South Texas families, agriculture, and the Hispanic community. Clark carries forward that same commitment to service, fairness, and justice for all.
For 45 years, I've practiced trial law in state and federal court. Not dabbling across multiple fields, but focused, dedicated trial work representing both plaintiffs and defendants in the disputes that fill District Court dockets. My journey began with six years as a Judge Advocate in the United States Army JAG Corps, where I prosecuted cases, and represented the United States. In the JAG Corps I learned courtroom discipline, and developed an unwavering commitment to procedural fairness.
I've been admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court the Fifth Circuit and all federal courts in Texas. I've earned the AV Preeminent rating from Martindale-Hubbell, the highest peer-review rating an attorney can achieve, meaning my fellow lawyers as well as judges rate me at the top for legal ability and ethical standards.
For 10 years, I've served as an election judge in Dallas County, ensuring fair and transparent elections at the precinct level. That experience taught me something critical: impartiality isn't just a word; it's a daily discipline. When you're overseeing an election, you don't ask voters their party. You treat everyone equally under the law.
That's the judicial philosophy I bring to the bench: Apply the law as written. Treat all parties with equal respect. Let the Constitution, not political winds, guide every decision. Bring common sense and common courtesy back to the trial bench.
I'm running because I've put in decades of courtroom work and believe that experience, fairness, and respect for the law matter in the 298th District Court.
District Courts handle real people with real problems: such as, business disputes, employment cases, personal injury, medical malpractice, contract fights. These cases demand a judge who has been in those trenches, who understands both sides of the bar, and who won't need on-the-job training to manage a complex docket.
Experience isn't everything, but when the stakes are this high, it matters. Dallas County deserves a judge who is already prepared, not one who hopes to figure it out along the way.
